The Bissell 9200 ProHeat 2X Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner utilizes a built-in heater to help you bring up the dirt and clean your home carpets and rugs. The big question though is this machine your best bet in a home carpet cleaning machine?

This Bissell carpet cleaner has a powerful 12-amp motor to turn its double rows of power brushes and get up the ground in dirt and other stains. One of the better features of this machine is the on-board water heater that will heat your ordinary hot tap water to an additional 25 degrees. (One note on this; do not add boiling hot water from your stove to the machine. It will damage the tank and break the machine.)

A two in one tank separates the water/detergent mix from the dirty water. There's also a unique tough stain tool that is designed for use on those smaller, stubborn stains that need added attention. It works pretty well on steps and upholstery as well.

One other nice feature with this cleaner is the edge cleaning brushes. Many carpet cleaners will leave a gap of a few inches at the edge of the walls, but Bissell makes it to where you can clean the carpets right up next to the edge.

Bissell includes a 30 foot power cord, a small bottle of tough-stain cleaner, Scotchgard protectant and a trial size fiber cleansing formula with the machine.

Summary of Reviews

We have to say that despite some of the nice features with this particular Bissell carpet cleaning machine, overall, it has a few too many areas that need improvement. The Bissell 9400 has made many of these improvements.

There have been too many problems with the machine not working after the first 1-2 times of being used, as well as issues surrounding the spray solution not spraying and other smaller issues. In this price range you may want to look at either the 9400 or one of the machines from Hoover as an option.

Reviews on sites such as Amazon back this up. Half of the user comments have had issues with this machine, while the other half love it. That said, based on our own research and the general overall online consensus, we give this model a 3 star rating. It does have some good things going for it, but it also has a few problem areas that prevent us from highly recommending it.
